Been reading some stuff by artist Trevor Paglen, he's known for investigating the "black world, which is basically the result of our government's own black budget. Rather than focus on any fringe material that lacks sufficient evidence, Paglen focuses on what can be seen and acknowledged. This has led him to many paths that branch out from our government's secret spending programs. Undisclosed spy satellites observed by amateurs, flights responsible for transporting workers to and from undisclosed military installations, signatures of fake persons, foreign sites used by the military for torture, these are just a few things Paglen brings to view in order to map out what our government insists doesn't exist.
here's some titles if your interested:
Torture Taxi
Blank Spots
He's also known for coining the term experimental geography(he holds a PH.D. in geography), which is basically a hybrid of art, culture, and geography as a new way of approachinggeography itself, how we interact with the land, and how we map it out. I think, it's still a bit over my head.
